So you have decided to create a website, and if you are looking for the best option, you are at the right place.

In this article, we gonna look at some useful information, but first, let me tell you the answer to the question, does SiteGround provide a free domain?

Does SiteGround Provide Free Domain?

No, Siteground does not provide a free domain. It will cost you around 16$ per year. I would say, the cost is a bit high, and it is suggested to buy a domain from somewhere else, for example, Godaddy, and then you can connect your Siteground hosting with it.

We will discuss everything in this article like, where you can purchase domains at the best price, why a free domain doesn’t matter, how to find a good domain name, and much more. So, stick till the end.

Hosting companies are increasing day by day, many companies are offering to host at extremely cheap price, But those companies also provide cheap hosting to you.

For Google, user experience matters a lot, but when a website loads slowly and doesn’t work smoothly, google gives poor ranking to it. That’s why it is so damn important to use a good host.

Without any audience, your website will be a desert where nobody comes.

Why Free Domain Should Not Matter Much

Let’s suppose you saw an ad where the host is providing free domain for one year, and you liked the offer and purchased the plan. Now, your website is struggling, it isn’t loading fast, it is crashing a lot, and customer support is also not helping.

The scenario I told could become reality because there are thousands of hosts that are doing the same. They are advertising a lot and catching the eyes of customers like you. You have to be an aware customer because there are many frauds in the market, they just want your money, they don’t care about your site at all.

I know it is good if the host is providing free domain but you should also look at the features you are getting. You should not purchase a hosting plan, just because the host is offering a free domain.

List Of Host That Offer Free Domain

Now, I am about to present a list of hosts that I found best, and they also provide free domain. If you want a free domain and don’t want to comprise your site performance then you can go with these hosts listed below.

1: Hostinger

Hostinger is a really good host, they are fast and have many great tools that can help you in creating a wonderful site. Many professional has rated Hostinger very high due to its speed and support.

They offer almost every type of hosting, but only their cheapest plan, which starts with a staggering offer of 0.99$/mo doesn’t have a free domain. Apart from it, every plan has a free domain in it.

Hostinger Free Domain

You have to spend at least 2.19% a month to get a free domain. In my opinion, this is a good deal because Hostinger is a well-known brand now, and they provide great support to their customers. You can try them, and if it didn’t work well, you can ask for a refund, they have a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Here is the data of Hostinger performance:

Stats presented by Pingdom

As you can see above, the speed that Hostinger has offered is blazing fast. However, they do go down sometimes, but they are overcoming it, their recent performance has improved a lot.

2: Bluehost.

A widely known brand, which has over 2 million customers. Bluehost provides a free domain with every plan you select. You can register the domain for one year and after that, you have to pay charges to renew it.

Bluehost is amazing for those who have no knowledge about how hosting works or for those who are entering the blogging world for the first time. They have a very easy and engaging panel where you can apply changes.

Speed and uptime are crucial factors, and Bluehost does take it seriously and focus on it. However, I would still go for SiteGround even though I know they don’t provide a free domain. It is because Siteground is better than Bluehost in terms of speed and uptime.

However, the cheapest plan of Bluehost starts at 2.75$ monthly, it is a very affordable price.

Bluehost Plan

Let’s check out the last 10 months performance of Bluehost:

Like Hostinger, they are also performing well recently. I am pretty shocked to see how much improvement they have done. In the future, they might also beat Siteground in terms of speed and uptime. it won’t be shocking.

3: NameHero

You might not have heard of this brand before but let me tell you, they are doing a wonderful job. The speed which they provide and the uptime they give is comparable to the top of the industry.

They do provide a free domain however, there are some requirements. For example, you have to choose a minimum 7.98$ monthly plan. However, the features that they will provide with this plan are just crazy. Your site will be super-fast, and will not go down time after time.

NameHero offers

As you can see in the picture above, they are offering 3GB RAM which is enough to make your website smooth as butter.

4: HostGator

Another well-known hosting brand. They also offer a free domain if you meet certain criteria. According to Hostgator, In order to qualify for one free domain name registration, you must sign up for a 12, 24, or 36 months HostGator Shared, WordPress, or Cloud hosting plan. Offer only applies to domains available at the time of hosting signup, and on their initial purchase term.

Hostgator Offer

Hostgator and Bluehost are part of the same group. That is why their cheapest plan starts with 2.75$ a month. I would suggest Bluehost over Hostgator, Bluehost performance is slightly better than Hostgator.

My experience with Hostgator was decent however, I had faced issues like site down and slowness, but most of the time it was good. Also, their cheapest plan was handling a lot of visitors with ease.

Here is how HostGator performed in the last 10 months:

Hostgator Performance

You can see above in the picture, only one time Hostgator managed to provide 100% uptime. This why I left them.

5: GoDaddy Hosting

Godaddy is the most popular domain registrar but they also claim to be the best host. However, I don’t think so they are. But, they do provide a free domain with most plans.

Also, professional email comes for free with Godaddy hosting. They are a very reputed brand, and I have also purchased this domain from them. But they can do better with hosting services.

Last 10 months data of Godaddy Hosting:

Godaddy Hosting Data

Uptime did not touch 100%, which tells that there is something not good. Godaddy is a great place to find a domain name but not hosting. Siteground is 10X better.

So this was the list of Hosting companies that provide a free domain, now let’s check the list of tools you can use to find catchy domain names. because it is important in brand awareness.

List Of Tools To Find Domain Name:

There are some great tools available online that can help you in finding a good domain name. You can put your keyword which you want to include in your domain name and then just click on search to find it out.

1: Domainwheel.com

It is a very well-designed tool that lets you see the domains that are available to buy. You can put your keyword in the search tab and then hit search and wait, it will suggest domain name ideas to you in seconds.

You can also apply filters according to you. for example, if you only want this tool to show .com domain names then unselect all the extensions and let .com selected, and then click search.

Domain wheel suggested 12 names to me, you can notice that it is also suggesting me similar keywords like “Domain”, so it shows how it is designed.

2: InstantDomainSearch.com

Another great tool to find out domain names. It is easy to use and does suggest a lot of good domain names in just one click. I tested this tool to find out domain names that include the word Hosting, and these the ideas it suggested to me.

Some of the results are not as per requirement, but it is just a tool, and it will surely improve in the future.

How To Find The Best Domain Name

Now, what if you want to choose the domain name on your own, then here are the tips that can help you in coming with a catchy domain name.

1: Use .Com Extension

Cognitive fluency favors a top-level domain (TLD) that’s easy and familiar. Com has become the default domain extension, and therefore the most memorable. This, in essence, is why .com is the best domain extension for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). As .com domains are the most powerful, they have become more popular.

2: Use The Keyword You Want To Focus

The domain should contain your focus keyword, by doing so, you’ll let google know that your website is entirely dedicated to this particular niche. For example, if you want to make a photography website, then it should contain “Photography” or words that are related to it.

You can take the example of this blog, Its name is HostingGrow.com, and share the info related to hosting.

3: Keep It Short

People tend to remember short names, don’t go overboard with domain length. It is recommended to keep it less than 15 characters.

Not to mention, users will also be more prone to entering typos with longer domain names which can lead to losing traffic. That’s why it’s a good idea to keep your domain length short.

4: Avoid Hyphens

Hyphens may not be a good idea because a user may face an issue. Hyphenated domains are also prone to typos. If you choose a domain name with hyphens because the domain you want is already taken, then your users will likely end up at your competitor’s site if they forget to type in the hyphen.

Also, Hyphens can be a sign of spam domains which you do not want to be associated with.

5: Buy It Before Someone Else Buy It

Don’t wait too long because there are thousands of domains getting sold every day. The domain that you have decided to buy, may not be available after some time so make sure to take quick action.
